Today was published a letter to the editor by Gloria La Riva, coordinator of the US National Committee to Free the Cuban Five on anti-Cuban terrorists and the case of the Five in The Miami Herald. "Somehow in Miami, anti-Cuba terrorists are embraced as heroes. That is because Miami anti-Cuba terrorism is woven into the fabric of city and county politics". |

In May of this year James Petras suggested that in recognition of the struggle against terrorism carried out by the Cuban Five, they should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The idea, outlined in an article he wrote, had important repercussions in the alternative press and influenced the work of the German lawyer, Günter Belchaus. “The proposal should become a reality” he said, “and I began to take the necessary steps toward making it so”. |
