The new refusal by the US authorities to grant a visa to Adriana Pérez, wife of Gerardo Hernández, is, she says, “absurd and outrageous”. For the sixth time in a row the US authorities yesterday denied a visa application made by Adriana Pérez with the sole purpose of visiting her husband, Gerardo Hernández, who is in Victorville Prison, California. "In short, first they said that my entrance would be a danger to US territory, then it was the intelligence agent or terrorist thing, later as a danger to national security, and now this last time they allege that I am a possible immigrant."

Human Rights Commission Delegates learn about the case of the Cuban Five
To a group of delegates to the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Commission was screened the documentary "Mission against Terror," showing the reasons for which the Cuban Five monitored stateside terrorist attacks against Havana. The delegates also witnessed the launching of the book, published by Ocean Press, "Letters of Love and Hope," containing messages sent by the Five, with prologue by US writer Alice Walker.
Cuban Five case in UN Commission on the Legal and Social Condition of Women
THE delegation from the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) participating in this Commission has circulated a letter setting forth the human rights violations of family members of the five Cubans unjustly imprisoned in United States, given that one of the essential goals of the Commission is respect for the human rights of women and the prevention of women being utilized as instruments of pressure in terms of resolving conflicts.
